ACLC ‘True Family Values Awards Ceremony’
Six Married Couples Selected for Devotion and Human Rights Movements/ 600 Religious Leaders from New York, etc., Participate/ Dr. Hak Ja Han: ‘A World Without Discrimination’ The American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC) held the “True Family Values Awards Ceremony” in New York on the 3rd, and presented awards to six married couples.
With the topic, “Family affects the community” set forth, 600 religious, women and civic group leaders attended the awards ceremony that took place at the Marriott Hotel in Brooklyn, New York.
Dr. Hak Ja Han, President of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, is emphasizing the critical role of America at the “True Family Value Award Ceremony” that was held in New York.
In her keynote address, Dr. Hak Ja Han of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification said, “America blended into one country by transcending race and ethnic tribes, but is currently facing many problems,” and added, “Such problems can only be solved through the healing of God, and when America sacrifices, the world can have hope.”
Dr. Han said, “The world must become a place without racial discrimination and prejudice,” and further emphasized, “And as a cleric, one must put in effort to realize such values.” In his welcoming message, Dr. Ki-Hoon Kim, FFWPU Continental Chair of North America, said, “Reverend Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han have stressed the value of family to this date,” and added, “Let us all come forward for the True Family Movements, which are essential to the well-being and peace of mankind.”
All six married couples were those whom had devoted themselves in human rights movements, community volunteer work and community education.
Winners included Chief George Akeen, Jr. of the Native American Church, former New York City Council Una Clarke, New Jerusalem Worship Center Rev. Calvin Rice, Church of God's Children Archbishop Angelo Rosario, United Missionary Baptist Church Bishop Michael Sykes and Pastor Mark Williams and his wife, who have all put forth effort into promoting spiritual education.
The “True Family Values Awards Ceremony” began in Chicago in 1996, and continued since then for 21 years. The Family Federation said, “The ceremony that takes place every year is attended by 500 to 3,000 clerics,” and revealed, “In the middle of the 2000s, at the time, Senator Barack Obama himself attended the event.” From the beginning of the 21st Century, the ACLC has been hosting these ceremonies. The American Clergy Leadership Conference was founded in May, 2000, in Cheongpyeong, Gyeonggi-do, with 120 religious leaders present. Later on, it developed into a clergy network that transcended sects and religions with over 20,000 clerics in 50 states.
