FFWPU ‘International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace Contributes to Peace on the Korean Peninsula’

Kyeung-Seuk Ryu, President of FFWPU Korea, Denies Any Connection between FFWPU and Choi Soon-Sil or Her Daughter

It was announced on January 11, 2017, that the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (Unification Church, hereafter referred to as “FFWPU”) will hold the Second Sunhak Peace Prize Award Ceremony, as well as the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP) Event at the National Assembly from February 2-9, 2017, to commemorate the birthday of founders Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon and Foundation Day.

At a press conference held for the New Year in Jeong-dong, Jeong-gu, Seoul, FFWPU Korea President Kyeung-Seuk Ryu announced, “The Universal Peace Federation, Sunhak Peace Prize Committee, and the Hyo Jung World Peace Foundation will hold a series of commemorative events under the slogan of ‘Shining Rays of Hope Around the World with a Filial Heart for Heaven.’”

FFWPU’s first commemorative event will be to celebrate the birthday of Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon (January 6 by the Lunar Calendar) on February 2 at 10 AM at the Cheong Shim Peace World center in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do.

The birthday celebration will be followed by the IAPP event at the National Assembly Hall in Yeouido, Seoul at 3 PM.

President Ryu: “IAPP was created based on the understanding that an international organization of parliamentarians is needed in order to establish a world of coexistence, mutual prosperity and everlasting peace. The founding members of each continental chapter will gather in Korea to launch the organization to a global level.” 1,000 parliamentarians and leaders from all walks of life will attend the IAPP event.

President Ryu emphasized, “If we look at the recent international situation, we can see that the Korean peninsula has become a global concern, even more so than the Middle East. The IAPP will contribute toward resolving the issues concerning Northeast Asia, including the Korean peninsula.”

The week-long events held by FFWPU will close with the celebration of the 4th Anniversary of Foundation Day, which will be held at the Cheon Jeong Heavenly Palace Museum on February 9 (January 13 by the Lunar Calendar) in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do.

When it was brought up, President Ryu denied any connection between FFWPU and the enemy mastermind behind the monopoly of the Korean administration, Choi Soon-Sil.

He firmly stated, “As far as I know, there is no connection. The report claiming that Choi Soon- Sil’s daughter, Jung Yoora, was kept hidden at our church in Germany is completely unfounded.”

Regarding Mr. David Yoon, the Korean living in Germany known to be an assistant to the mother and daughter, President Ryu responded, “He is not a member of our church. A leader of our church community in Germany happened to assist Mr. Yoon in finding a wife, and this fact was exaggerated so much that it resulted in a misunderstanding that FFWPU has some connection to any of this.”.... FFWPU Celebrates Founders Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon’s Birthday and Foundation Day with a Variety of Events

Family Federation for World Peace and Unification will commemorate the birthday of its founders Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon (February 2; January 6 by the Lunar Calendar) and the 4th Anniversary of Foundation Day (February 9; January 13 by the Lunar Calendar) with a variety of events and programs.

The Universal Peace Federation (UPF), Sunhak Peace Prize Committee, and the Hyo Jeong World Peace Foundation will hold a series of commemorative events under the slogan of “Shining Rays of Hope Around the World with a Filial Heart for Heaven.”

At the Second Sunhak Peace Prize Award Ceremony, Italian surgeon Dr. Gino Strada and Afghan educator Dr. Sakena Yacoobi were awarded and recognized for their contributions toward resolving the refugee crisis. Approximately 30,000 people, including 1,000 leaders and parliamentarians from the U.S.A., England, Brazil, the Philippines, Nepal, Europe, Asia, South America and Africa will attend the awards ceremony.

The series of events will begin on February 2, 2017, at the Cheong Shim Peace World Center in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do with a birthday celebration for Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon.

Rev. Sun Myung Moon was born on January 6, 1920 (by the Lunar Calendar), and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon was born on January 6, 1943 (by the Lunar Calendar). Each year, FFWPU celebrates their birthday on January 6 by the Lunar Calendar.

1,000 people, including current parliamentarians, politicians, religious leaders, diplomats, educators and NGOs from nations all over the world attended the birthday celebration of Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, the “peace-loving global citizens.”

The International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP) will also host an event at the National Assembly Hall in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the same day.

Following the signing of a declaration to establish the IAPP on February 15 of last year, continental chapters of the IAPP were launched in Asia, Africa, Europe, North and South America, etc. In December, the North American chapter of the IAPP was launched on Capitol Hill in the presence of U.S. congressmen and representatives from each continent.

The IAPP was created based on the understanding that an international organization of parliamentarians is needed in order to establish a world of coexistence, mutual prosperity and everlasting peace. Parliamentarians and leaders from all walks of life, including Korean parliamentarians, will attend the IAPP event.

The Second Sunhak Peace Prize Award Ceremony will take place on February 3 at the Lotte World Hotel in Songpa-gu, Seoul.

The two recipients of the Sunhak Peace Prize, Dr. Strada and Dr. Yacoobi, will each receive a medal and $ 1 million USD (12 billion Korean won).

Dr. Strada will be honored and awarded for providing emergency medical relief to those in the epicenter of conflict in the Middle East and Africa over the past 28 years, saving 8 million lives. Dr. Yacoobi will be honored and awarded for developing an innovative solution to the refugee resettlement problem through education, especially in Afghan refugee camps.

The Sunhak Peace Prize was established based on the peace vision of “one human family.” In 2015, the Sunhak Peace Prize was awarded to individuals for their contributions to climate change and food crisis. This year, the agenda was the refugee crisis and the advancement of humankind toward a peaceful future.

The Hyo Jung World Peace Foundation will present scholarships totaling 10 billion won on February 5 at the Cheong Shim International Youth Training Center in Gapyeong-gun. Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon will be present as 2,000 global students, including 500 from Korea and 1,500 from 70 different nations, receive scholarships.

100 of the 2,000 students will be representing 10 different religious groups. The Hyo Jung World Peace Foundation was established as the Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation in February of 2013, prior to changing its name in October of last year. Since 2013, the Foundation has selected 2,000 global students each year to receive scholarships totaling 10 billion won, and has expanded the movement of cultural arts, academics and world peace.

The grand finale will be the celebration of the 4th Anniversary of Foundation Day held on February 9 at the Cheon Jeong Heavenly Palace Museum.

According to FFWPU, Foundation Day is alluded to in the Bible as the day marking the end of the 6,000-year history of sin and the start of a new era. It is the day when the providence for the settlement of God’s nation, the Nation of Cosmic Peace and Unity (Cheon Il Guk) begins on earth. Leaders and members of FFWPU from all over the world will attend.

In addition, the International Conference on the Unity of Sciences (ICUS) will be held at the Lotte World Hotel from February 4-5.

President of FFWPU Korea, Kyeung-Seuk Ryu, stated, “In 2017, FFWPU will work to establish God’s nation and realize His ideal and dream of a peaceful world. This event gives us an opportunity to reflect on Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon’s filial heart (hyo jung) for Heaven and their true love for humankind, as well as all of their accomplishments. We will begin the year of 2017 as a new chapter for the establishment of a peaceful ideal world as ‘one human family.’”.... [See the original story]
