“FFWPU” Scholarship Presentation Ceremony…10 billion won awarded to 2,000 students

President Kyeung-Seuk Ryu: ‘There is No Connection to Choi Soon-Sil Gate’

The Hyo Jung World Peace Foundation will award 10 billion won in scholarships to 2,000 students from Korea and abroad. There will also be a commemorative celebration of FFWPU Founder Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s birthday on February 2 (January 6 by the Lunar Calendar) with 30,000 people, including FFWPU leaders from all over the world in attendance.

The President of FFWPU Korea, Kyeung-Seuk Ryu (photo), began the new year’s press conference on January 11 with the announcement that “Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon’s birthday and the 4th Anniversary of Foundation Day will be celebrated with a series of commemorative events under the slogan of ‘Shining Rays of Hope Around the World with a Filial Heart for Heaven.’” 2,000 students from around the world, including 500 from Korea and 1,500 from 70 different nations will receive scholarships, totaling 10 billion won, on February 5 at the Cheong Shim International Youth Training Center in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do. 100 of the 2,000 students will be representing 10 different religious groups. Additional scholarships will be presented to 300 children of multicultural families and North Korean defectors. The Hyo Jung World Peace Foundation, which had been established in 2013 as the Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation prior to changing its name, has selected 2,000 global students each year to receive scholarships totaling 10 billion won since 2013.

President Ryu stated, “The birthday celebration will take place at the Cheong Shim Peace World Center in Gapyeong with 30,000 people, including 1,000 parliamentarians, politicians, diplomats, religious leaders, educators and cultural and NGO leaders, etc.

In addition, the FFWPU Sunhak Peace Prize Committee will host the Second Sunhak Peace Prize Award Ceremony on February 3 in the Crystal Ballroom of the Lotte World Hotel in Jamshil, Seoul. Dr. Gino Strada (68) will be honored and awarded for providing emergency medical relief to those in the epicenter of conflict throughout the Middle East and Africa over the past 28 years, saving 8 million lives. Dr. Sakena Yacoobi (66) will be honored and awarded for developing an innovative solution to the refugee resettlement problem through education, working especially in Afghan refugee camps. They will each receive a medal and $1 million USD (approximately 12 billion Korean won).

The general assembly of the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP) will be held at the National Assembly Hall in Yeouido, Seoul on February 2 with parliamentarians from all over the world in attendance. The celebration of the 4th Anniversary of Foundation Day (January 13 by the Lunar Calendar) will be held on February 9 at the Cheon Jeong Heavenly Museum in Gapyeong with FFWPU leaders from around the world.

Regarding the so-called “Choi Soon-Sil’s Monopoly of the Korean Administration,” President Ryu flatly denied any connection between FFWPU and the individual mentioned in the media. “That individual does not have any particular relationship with FFWPU. All of the other suspicions have nothing to do with FFWPU.”.... [See the original story]
