At the “Korea-US-Japan International Collegiate Symposium to Promote World Peace and the Peaceful Reunification of the Korean Peninsula” held at the Yeouido Parliamentary Library in Seoul, the Unification Korea Federation Chairman Kwang-Seuk Song, and students from Korea, United States and Japan, held hands singing ‘Our Hope.’”

In his welcoming remarks, CARP President Sang-Pil Moon said, “In the face of the summit between Korea and the US, this is a meaningful place where young people from Korea, America and Japan gather together to discuss about the peace and unification of the Korean Peninsula”.

A right-wing party member Yong-Tae Kim emphasized in his congratulatory speech that "the Korean Peninsula is becoming the world's biggest powder keg as North Korea develops nuclear and intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM). For peace and unification on the Korean peninsula, not only do we need efforts from the government of Korea, US and Japan, but also the efforts of the people, and most importantly, the interests and efforts of the students."

The symposium was held during which five students from three countries shared their opinions after giving a topic presentation with a representative. Anomura Akinori (23, Kyunghee University, Dept. of Political Science and Diplomacy, a junior), a representative of Japan, said, “In order to unify North and South Korea, communication is important. It is possible for North and South Korean students to communicate if seminars are held in Pyongyang, and they could meet and talk to each other. We need to make an issue of the unification of the two Koreas, and if college students travel around the world and tell about the unification issue between the two Koreas, they can draw attention to the world. It was always a youth who creates a new history. North and South must unite in order to bring world peace,” he emphasized.

Jun-Oh Jung (28), a junior in the English Language and Literature Department at Seoul National University of Science and Technology said, "Our interest, awareness and action on world peace are important. If we can guide someone by the little good works that can be practiced in our everyday life, we will advance world peace,” he said..... [See the original story]
