The “Gwangju Buk-gu Marching Forward for Harmonious Unification of the Nation Rally” was held at the Buk-gu Regional Council Conference Room on July 30, at 2 pm (photo).

At this event, held jointly by the Gwangju branch of Family Federation for World Peace and Unification and the Unification Korea Federation, over 500 people were in attendance, including former Gwangju City Council Chairman Myeong-Hwan Ban, former Gwangju City Council Vice Chairman Seon-Gi Jin and Buk-gu Regional Council members.

Gwangju Metropolitan City Executive Committee Representative In-Gi Yeon pleaded, “Let us go forward together in changing our nation of Korea in crisis to that of hope,” as part of the opening address.

National Assembly member Gyeong-Hwan Choi stated, “Harmony and unification are more important than anything else. The most ardent path of patriotism is uniting our efforts for our desire for the reunification of North and South Korea,” as part of a congratulatory message.

International Peace Research Institute Director In-Tae Hwang stated, “We examined the position of the Korean Peninsula within the world situation, and took the time to draft a proposal for the reunification of the Korean Peninsula,” as part of the keynote address. Director Hwang emphasized, “We must all become the agents of unification.”
