[Daegyeong Daily] National Entertainers and Artists Association Holds the ‘1st Hyojeong Citizens Silver Singer’s Festival’ with Great Success The 1st Hyojeong Citizens Silver Singer’s Festival, hosted by the National Entertainers and Artists Association and sponsored by the Hyojeong Culture University and Daegu Citizen’s Association of Chauffeur Service Franchises, was held on August 13 at 6 pm at the Kolon Outdoor Concert Hall’s stage in Daegu, as a midsummer night festival.
At this event, FFWPU Daegu Branch Director Dong-Won Jeong explained the significance of the “Hope for Korea! Marching Forward for the Harmonious Unification of the Nation Rallies on the Town (-eub), Township (-myeon) and Village (-dong) Levels” that were recently being held by the FFWPU throughout the nation, as part of the keynote address.
Director Jeong elaborated on the FFWPU’s late founder Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s contributions toward the end of the Cold War, and emphasized the need for everyone to overcome the difficulties surrounding the nuclear armament of North Korea, as well as to alleviate tensions on the Korean Peninsula by taking part in the unification and true families movements that are centered on the concept of unification as brothers and sisters.
The Hyojeong Citizens Silver Singer’s Festival was held to allow silver generation citizens to lead more healthy and vibrant lives and to increase their interest in this rapidly aging local community.
With the recent increase in the frequency of senior citizens dying alone, as well as senior citizens living below the poverty line, one purpose of the Hyojeong Citizens Silver Singer’s Festival was to go forth in revitalizing the silver generation in realizing that they are part of a family community that must embrace and cultivate its members, as members that are not segregated from society, while increasing opportunities for active participation.....
