At the opening ceremony, welcoming remarks were given by the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification-Korea President Kyeung-Seuk Ryu, and he said, “Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon have established numerous interfaith organizations such as the Federation for World Peace and Religion, and the foundation of religious peace movement was expanded through world religion conventions, world religious youth seminars and the publication of the World Scriptures.” And he also emphasized, “The peace and unification of the Korean Peninsula and the peaceful coexistence of Northeast Asia as a religious person in action is an imperative mission given to religious people in this era.”

He also encouraged by saying, “Let us all gather together and go forward until the day when there is an end to division and confrontation that persisted not only on the Korean Peninsula and throughout Northeast Asia, but all over the world; and where peace is settled through forgiveness and reconciliation."

ACLC Co-Chair Michael Jenkins said in his welcoming remarks, “A speech on the theme ‘Peace Starts From Me’ was given by Dr. Hak Ja Han to the 20,000 people in New York City last July, where leaders of Confucianism, Christianity, Catholicism, Buddhism, Islam and Hinduism gathered, and turned out to be a harmonious interfaith festival,” and continued, “Dr. Hak Ja Han brought the blessing she gave to America to Korea. I hope that peace will be achieved between the two Koreas.”

“We have to start peace from within ourselves, and the providence, God and Buddha also agree to the saying that peace should start from ourselves,” said Monk Hongpa, general manager of the Korean Buddhist Gwanumjong.

He said, “I am deeply connected with Rev. Sun Myung Moon. When I was attending university, I was very moved to hear the Divine Principle in 1964, and I felt that the scale and spirit of Rev. Moon was incredible. I am a Buddhist, but I liked Rev. Moon very much,” and further emphasized, “I hope that many people will follow the spirit and teachings of Rev. Moon and play a major role in world peace and the unification of the two Koreas, as well as movements to pursue peace.”

On the 5th, the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification Chief of Staff Won- Ju Jung gave congratulatory remarks at the opening ceremony of the “2017 Hyo-Jeong World Peace International Seminar for Interfaith Clergy” held in the Lotte World Hotel in Chamsil-dong, Songpa-gu in Seoul.

The Chief of Staff Won-Ju Jung said, “Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han emphasized that world peace can be settled when religions cooperate with each other through interdenominational, interfaith, international harmony,” and also requested for the world leaders to pray for peace, and continued by saying, “Many have gathered at this Interfaith International Seminar who have agreed with Rev. Moon’s will and ideal and have participated in many activities. Dr. Han said that the serious security crisis on the Korean Peninsula is rising, and international problems such as terrorism and disputes are serious all over the world. She sincerely asks for all the world leaders to gather together with one heart and one will and pray for world peace.”

The Korea Religion Association Chairman Hyun-Young Lee gave welcoming remarks saying, “I thank the clergy for their courage in visiting Korea at this time where you are at risk from North Korea’s nuclear test,” and also encouraged the clergy by saying, “This courage comes from God, the power of God's peace, and I hope you can all deliver this spirit of ‘Peace starts with me’ to Korea.”

This international seminar will be held until the 10th, under the theme of “The Key Role of Religious Leaders for Building Korea and World Peace.”

It is a meaningful time for the spiritual religious leaders of the US and South Korea to pray together for peace on the Korean Peninsula at this time when North Korea's nuclear test and the launch of ballistic missiles have threatened the peace on the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia.....
