On the 8^th, Dr. Hak Ja Han offered a benediction at the opening ceremony of the “CheonJi Sunhak Won Groundbreaking Ceremony” held in Sorak-myeon, Gappyeon-gun, Gyeonggi-do.

On the 8^th, the “CheonJi Sunhak Won” groundbreaking ceremony was held at Songsan-ri, Sorak-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do.

On this day, Dr. Han offered a benediction saying, “I want to build CheonJi Sunhak Won that will show the dreams and hopes of God, and convey vividly God’s providential history to those living in the present and to our future descendants,” and added, “Thank you, God. We will go forward to the day when we can build CheonJi Sunhak Won and give back appreciation and glory to God with the heart of Hyo-Jeong. If we are together with God, we will certainly be able to accomplish it. Today will be the beginning for God’s dream of mankind living as one family, as well as building Heavenly Kingdom on Earth.”

Gapyeong County Governor Sung-Gi Kim said in his congratulatory speech, “I would like to offer my sincere congratulations on behalf of the six-million, four-thousand residents of Gapyeong for the groundbreaking ceremony of the CheonJi Sunhak Won, which will become a museum to enhance the life of true love and vision of peace, which Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han have taught through their great footsteps they left behind in various fields all over the world to put an end to the Cold War era and to build world peace.” He also added, “Sorak-myeon is a region that has maintained a close cooperation with the Family Federation, and is looking forward to further development. As we turn the first spade of earth today for Cheonji Sunhak Won, which will be an important landmark of the tourism industry, as well as Gapyeong tourist attraction, and I look forward to the revitalization of the local economy through the increase of domestic and international tourists."

On the other hand, CheonJi Sunhak Won is built on the ground of 125,689㎡ in Songsan-ri, San 109, with a 4-floor basement, and 2 floors above ground of 11,010㎡ and a total floor area of 76,207㎡.

The Promotion Committee was launched in February, 2014, and its name was confirmed as of November of the same year. In July of last year, the planning and basic design was completed and construction began on this day.

It is decorated with the artistic architecture of semi-classical architecture that implies the beauty of both the east and the west.

The 1^st and 2^nd floors are the exhibition galleries of the peace movement and vision of Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han. This exhibition is built as a high-tech 4-D theater where analogue and digital systems are performed harmoniously. In particular, peace education is realized through virtual reality experiences.

In the basement, the process of construction of the CheonJi Sunhak Won is displayed in miniature.

Other facilities include a storage area, state-of-the-art theaters, banquet halls and convenience store facilities. The outdoor sculpture park will exhibit a number of works by world-class artists.
