[Seoul Times] Is Korea’s ballet status
skyrocketing internationally? Around 20% of students attending the
Universal Ballet’s summer school are from overseas. PR marketing targeting
Japanese Hallyu fans paid off in its effect.
The Universal Ballet’s performing arts program, which opened in 1997, is suddenly gathering large numbers of foreign students. The summer ballet school, which began on the 22th and ended on the 27th was attended by 15 Japanese and 2 American students. This number shares one fourth of the total number of participants, which is around 80, and is a sky-rocketing in the number of foreign students, when compared to the fact that in the past, around 2 foreigners used to participate each year. |
