The 2013 World Peace and Unification Art Festival was held for 4 days from August 22nd through August 25th. It took place at the Cheonshim Peace World Center in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province. The festival was held in commemoration of the 1st year memorial of the founder of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification President, Revered Sun Myung Moon.

Event organizers stated that "in particular this event included the children of multicultural families and with the theme 'peace' and 'unification' many creative works from the pre-school and elementary school division were on display.

There was a tape cutting ceremony marking the launch of the first World Peace and Unification Art Festival which is expected to gradually expand in scale over the years. The president of the Youth Federation for World Peace, Yu Gyeong Deuk explained that "we are preparing for an event in 2014 in tandem with the Youth Federation for World Peace Japan branch that can discover and train artistic talent in Korea and Japan.  And have systematic plans for the future to create an event where 43 participating countries can take part in the event...."
