1st anniversary of Reverend Moon's Death… 25,000 followers gather



The founder of the Unification Church Reverend Moon passed away on September 3rd (1920~2012). The 1st year anniversary of the founder's death was held on the 23rd at 10 am at the Cheongshim Peace World Center in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province.  The Unification Church held the main event according to lunar calendar. July 17th was the date for the anniversary for death of Rev. Moon.

 

The event took two hours and with the President of the Unification Church Korea Yang Chang Shik as emcee there was an opening prayer, an offering of flowers, a report of the reverend's life and work, a memorial address, reading aloud of a memorial poem, and a speech. President Han Hak Ja stated “I sincerely hope this can be the moment to  make the determination to say that "True Father to lives on in our hearts. ‘We will become the filial sons and daughters, we will become loyal subjects…’

Gift of Pungsan Dogs by Premier Kim Jeong-eun for the late Founder of the Unification Church, Sun Myung Moon at 1st anniversary of Moon's Death

 

 

The former president of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (Unification Church) revealed  a pair (picture) of 9 month old male and female punsan dogs that were a gift from the Premier of North Korea, Kim Jeong Eun and were displayed along with other artifacts of the former president in the Cheonjeonggung Museum in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province. The names of the two dogs the late Reverend Moon received as gifts were Jeongju for the male and Anju for the female.  The dogs were given the names after the respective hometowns the late Reverend Moon from Pyeongbuk, Jeonju and his wife Hak Ja Han left  and Pyeongnam, Anju....

1st Memorial Service for Reverend Sun Myung Moon of the Unification Church...More than 25,000 gather from 70 countries


 

 

The 1st memorial service was held the morning of the 23rd at the Cheongshim Peace World Center in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province for Reverend Moon, the founder of the Family Federation for Peace and Unification (Unification Church hereafter as Family Federation).

The memorial service was attended by the late Reverend Moon's widow Hak Ja Han, the President of the Family Federation and was attended by various dignitaries from about 70 countries including 25,000 members from Korea and abroad, and a live internet broadcast  also aired.

  

President Han stated "We will inherit the dearest wish of Reverend Moon of the Unification of North and South Korea, and will march forward until we have achieved freedom, peace and happiness."

The chief Buddhist monk at the Bulguksa Temple stated that "Reverend Moon lived a life of sacrifice giving everything to create a peaceful world for mankind" and added "Peace activist, philosopher, educator, Messiah, it is difficult to express Reverend Moon completely in words..."
