[Newsis] '6000 take part in the 'National Multicultural Youth Camp,' Family Federation for World Peace and Unification






 

The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (President Chang Shik Yang) held the '2013 National Multicultural Family Youth Camp' at the World Jamboree Camp in Goseong, Gangwon Province. 

A total of 6000 people took part including 5000 youths of multicultural families, and 1000 parents. There were several events prepared including a chorus tournament, talent show, water fight zone, food zone, play zone and other facilities.

 

In challenge valley that is the best part of Jamboree Camp programs have been prepared that build character like go-kart riding, rappelling, zip-line riding, and ATV (4-wheeler) experience and more.

Aside from the main program there was a counseling program for parents and a multicultural peace program for elementary school aged children who came with their parents. Foreign graduate school students also took part as staff. Singer Heo Gak (28), and the girl group 'Turan’ added to the excitement with a congratulatory concert.

The Family Federation stated that "according to data from the Gyeonggi Province Ministry of Education, by 2020 1 out of 5 members of Korean society will be made up of children from a multicultural family. And the role of multicultural youths in Korea will gradually increase in the future" further disclosing that "This camp will be a camp that inspires multicultural children to dream together with Japanese, Thai, Filipino, and other national cultures."

The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (Unification Church, President Chang Shik Yang) held the '2013 National Multicultural Youth Camp' at the World Jamboree Camp in Goseong, Gangwon Province which was held from August 2nd through the 4th intended for 7,000 multicultural youths.

 

Intended for the growing number of children from multicultural families this camp was run as a large scale camp including the youths from multicultural families from across the country, and there were several events prepared including a chorus tournament, talent show, water fight zone, food zone, play zone and other facilities.

The head of the Family Federation Hak Ja Han visited the camp in person and planned a special lecture, and the singers Heo Gak and the new girl group Turan took part in a congratulatory concert.

Further, this event is predicted to have been the place where great harmony could take place with the foreign graduate school students taking part in this event leading to a more internationalized atmosphere.

[The Kang Won Domin Ilbo] Multicultural Youth Camp in Goseong starting tomorrow

 

The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification(Presiden Yang Chang Shik) held the '2013 National Multicultural Family Youth Camp' at the World Jamboree Camp in Goseong.

 5,000 parents and children of multicultural families attended this event in which at least one parent is Japanese, Thai, or Filipino.

Family Federation for Peace and Unification related persons stated that we hope that "this camp will become a place where multicultural youths in Korea can share their hardships and fellowship.”
