An event organizer mentioned that “aside from the main program there were
several parent counseling programs that were held to create harmony” and added
that “this camp was a chance for children of multicultural families that
include Japan, Thailand, the Philippines and others to take part in sharing
each other’s culture and foster the hopes and dreams of the youth.”
Multicultural Camp held between 2nd and 4th in Goseong Jamboree
Camp (Goseong=Yonhap News) Lee Sang Hak Reporter = The ‘2013 National
Multicultural Youth Camp’ hosted by the Family Federation for World Peace and
Unification was held on the 2nd through the 4th at the
World Jamboree Campsite in Goseong, Gangwon Province. At the event about 7,000 youths and
members of multicultural families took part in the large scale camp. There were many events at the camp
to encourage multicultural youth to harmonize with one another including a
chorus competition, a talent show, a water gun zone, a food zone, and a play
zone.
Also at the Jamboree campsite there was a chance to
experience go-karts, rappelling, 4-wheelers (ATV) and other hands-on programs.
The Family
Federation for World Peace and Unification explained that the Family Federation
President Hak Ja Han had stopped by and famous singers performed as well. |
