[Newsis] The Citizen’s Federation for the Unification of Korea held “People’s Forum” at Busan City Council

‘People’s forum for unification’ that aims to use democratic spirit of Busan, Ulsan and Gyeongnam area as the driving force for the realization of unified Korea was held at the main auditorium of Busan City Council on the 24^th. The forum jointly organized by The Citizen’s Federation for the Unification of Korea(Chairman, Yong Su Seol), an incorporated association of Ministry of Unification, and Segye Ilbo and sponsored by Busan City Council was participated by about 500 people under the goal of promoting people’s unification mind and starting people’s committee for the preparation of unification.  

Starting with a forum at National Assembly in January under the slogan, “The principal agent of unification movement is people,” the forum continued from April at Gyeonggi Provincial Council, Gwangju City Council, and Seoul City Council, and in Daegu and Gyeongbuk area, Daejeon, Chungcheong, and Jeonbuk area, Gangwon area and Busan finally. 

Chairman, Yong Su Seol said, “It took 10 months for the People’s forum that started in January to reach Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam. “ and “It is expected that it will present a vision for unification movement by the joint efforts of government and people by collecting people’s opinions and establishing people’s committee for the preparation of unification.”

[Asia News Communications] The Citizen’s Federation for the Unification of Korea held People’s Forum in Busan successfully 

‘People’s form for unification’ in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeonnam area organized by The Citizen’s Federation for the Unification of Korea(Chairman, Yong Su Seol), an incorporated association of Ministry of Unification, and Segye Ilbo was held at the main auditorium of Busan City Council with about 300 people and presided over by Chairman of Life Politics Academy, Seong Chun Chu.

The forum conducted under the slogan of 'The principal agent of unification movement is people' was held throughout the nation from January with the view to promote people’s unification mind and start people’s committee for the preparation of unification and the one held in Busan was the last.

Key note speeches were made by Dongah University Professor, Byung Chul Park and Gyeongseong University Professor, Yun Sik Lee. And the forum continued for about 3 hours with the panelists including Busan University Professor, Jin Young Kim, Busan City Councilwoman, Suk Hee Shin, and President of Peaceful Unification Coalition, Won Bin Kim.

The forum was presided over by Former President of Jeju MBC and President of Life Politics Academy, Sung Chun Chu.
 
The first topic of the forum was 'Politics of memory, Busan, temporary capital, and establishment of the foundation for unification’ and Dong-A University Professor, Byung Chul Park made a key note speech and Busan University Professor of Political Diplomacy, Jin Young Kim led the discussion as a representative of local scholars...
