Welcoming the new head of the Korean Religions Association, members anticipate more growth than ever before. People witnessed the recent inauguration of Rev. Ryu, President of the FFWPU in Korea, as the 20th President for the Korean Religions Association (WKRA). The WKRA is the first inter-religious movement federation in Korea, which formed with six different religions in 1965, including Buddhism, Confucianism, Won Buddhism, Cheondogyo, Roman Catholicism and Protestantism. The WKRA has conducted inter-religious activities over a long period of time, through holding invitation seminars for religious leaders, religious exchanges between Korea and Japan, as well as its participation in the world religious leaders’ conferences. President Ryu expressed in the ceremony, “Religions have started to find the common ground to help the society and the nation, and contribute to the settlement of a peaceful world.” The Family Federation played a significant role in the establishment of the WKRA, which is approaching its 50th anniversary. Led by the head of the Family Federation, it will enhance the various projects for cooperation and dialogue among religions. People anticipate great things from the WKRA.
