“With the direct connection between peace in the Middle East and peace in the world, I hope that the Women’s Federation can express our gratitude for the efforts for and contributions to world peace made over the last 17 years by the world’s executives. I also hope that you will share with us your experience and wisdom, and that we can work together in the future,” shared Director Moon.
“In July, 2012, the founders of the Women’s Federation for World Peace, Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, founded the ‘Abel Women’s UN (the last international event before the Seong Hwa of Rev. Moon)’.” They stressed the importance of networking on not just a national or continental level, but on a worldwide level, in order to realize a peaceful world through spreading the women’s culture of peace,” she said.
The Women’s Federation has been carrying out the work of the Abel Women’s UN for the past two years, and is now working to expand the “Global Women’s Peace Network” project on a global level.
“In 2004, about 550 women leaders from 33 different nations gathered in Jerusalem for the ‘Women’s Conference for Peace in Jerusalem,’ in which about 3,000 Arab and Jewish mothers were invited to engage in open conversation with one another and work together,” said Director Moon. “This year marks 10 years since that event. As soon as the Women’s Federation leaders’ conference in Amman concludes, we plan to cross the border of Jordan and gather once more in Jerusalem to honor the 10th anniversary since the ‘Women’s Conference for Peace in Jerusalem’….”
