[Segye Ilbo] Former Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem Gal Attends Event “Rev. Moon’s Philosophy and Mutual Understanding with Jewish People.”

“Jewish People Need to Put Serious Thought into Establishing Big Families.”

“I am Jewish, but I like the philosophy of Rev. Sun Myung Moon of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification. His philosophy resonates with Jewish culture.”

Eliezer Glaubach-Gal (80, pictured), former City Councilman of Jerusalem, explained his reasons for attending the Women’s Pilgrimage for Peace in an interview with the Segye Ilbo on the 14^th (local time).

Jewish culture, just like Rev. Moon’s philosophy, emphasizes the importance of three generations living together in one household. It also teaches that one must treat others as one would like to be treated. However, unlike Judaism, Rev. Moon’s teaching includes the establishment of peace throughout all countries of the world, Gal explained.

Former City Councilman Gal is the President of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Jerusalem Forum for peace and security, as well as the Israeli President of the Professors World Peace Academy. In 2003, he represented Judaism at the Pilgrimage for Peace in Israel held by UPF.

Regarding Palestine’s 15 applications for treaties to the UN last month, Former Councilman Gal said, “Palestine made the mistake of thinking that the UN was the solution to all of its problems. The road to peace and a good relationship between the two nations and races will not be a short or easy one. It will require a lot of patience.”
