The Women’s Federation for World Peace President Nan-Young Moon accompanied the Middle East Women’s Peace Conference and Peace March held in Jordan and Israel for seven days from the 9^th of May. The Women’s Federation for World Peace seeks to establish a foundation of trust in troubled regions and has been carrying out activities in the Middle East over the past 10 years since 2004, following the directions of the late Rev. Sun Myung Moon. When KBS reporter Tae-Yung Yong was kidnapped by the Palestinian militant group Hamas, the Women’s Federation for World Peace aided in his release and conveyed to the world that the peace movements until now had not acted in vain.

The itinerary was complicated, taking up to 40 hours for a round trip, getting on and off the plane, as well as entering and exiting the country. This event was short-lived, but inspirational as it allowed us to take a close look at Israel and the Arab world at the same time. It was a rare opportunity to meet the women peace activists in the Middle East, where women are particularly harshly treated. I have been most interested concerning the water conflict in this region, and felt the need to check it out with my own eyes.....
