The “Rural Assemblymen Ambassadors for Peace Japanese Workshop for Peace in Northeast Asia” was held on July 29th at 6:00 PM in Urayatsu, Chiba, Japan at the Il Shim Special Education Center. The workshop was held over the course of four days, and was attended by 75 Korean rural assemblymen and 30 Japanese personnel.
About 75 rural assemblymen were in attendance at the event, including Chairman Seung-Deuk Jang of Incheon, Namgu, Chairman Goong-Yoo Nam of Eumsong, Chairman Jae-Wan Kim of Jangseong and Chairman Jong-Han Jung of Namwon. These members were joined by 65 rural council members, 10 assembly members from Kwangyeok and members who were elected on June 4th. Kokichi Nishimura, City Councilman of Yachiyo, Chiba Prefecture (now serving his 4th term), was one of the 30 Japanese leaders who gathered at the event to discuss peace in Northeast Asia.
“I pray that this workshop can give participants an opportunity to deeply ponder the meaning of genuine peace,” said Jung-Rho Yoon, Korean Chairman of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), who hosted the workshop. “There are many leaders around the world, not only in Korea and Japan, who are working as Ambassadors for Peace,” said Japanese Unification Church President Yong-Cheon Song. “The road to Korean unification will open up once Korea and Japan are able to cooperate with each other.” ... |
