[Joongang News Extra] Carrying Hopes for Peace in Northeast Asia, Russian and Japanese Cyclists Make Their Way to Busan.
“Cyclists from Russia and Japan are riding their bikes to Busan for the ‘Peace Bike Tour,’ carrying with them their hopes for peace in Northeast Asia and unification on the Korean Peninsula.” These are the words of Kyeung-Seuk Ryu (50), Korean President of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification. At a press conference held on July 28th at the Seoul Taepyong-ro Press Center, he revealed that “participants from about 10 countries in Northeast Asia will carry out a peace bicycle tour. In particular, we have two teams that are departing from Vladivostok and Okinawa respectively. The Japanese team will cycle a distance of 3,800 kilometers over the Japanese archipelago to eventually arrive in Busan.
