(photo by Kyunghyang Shinmun) Seoul -- Hyung Jin Nim predicted a new level of growth for the Unification Church in 2010 in a meeting Dec. 17 with reporters from major Korean daily newspapers. The meeting, the second annual meeting of its kind, was held to share his thoughts on the second anniversary of his installation as senior pastor of the Headquarters Church of HSA-UWC. "During the past two years, there have been many changes within the Unification Church organization, including the introduction of democratic processes," the Kyunghyang Shinmun quoted Hyung Jin Nim as saying in an article published on its online site. "In the new year, you will see the Unification Church grow to a new level," the article quoted him as saying. The Kyunghhyang went on to say, "Rev. Moon, the 7th son of Rev. Sun Myung Moon, was installed as senior pastor of Unificationism's Headquarters Church in December 2007." "He has served as international president of the church since April 2009," the report said. The newspaper went on to quote Hyung Jin Nim as explaining that a new World Headquarters Church was scheduled to open around Feb. 20 on the site of the former Yongsan Citizens Hall. The current headquaters church building would continue to serve as the headquarters of the Korean church, according to the article. |
