FFWPU Korean President Kyeung-Seuk Ryu’s New Year’s Address ‘The Religion of the People that Brings Hope and Change’

“In the coming of the year Byeong Shin 2016, I wish for the True Love of God to be with you and your families, and for it to be the year in which your dreams and hopes come true.”

The Korean President of the Family Federation of World Peace and Unification, Kyeung-Seuk Ryu, announced his New Year’s address.

President Ryu reflected, “Last year, we passed through a dark tunnel of pain and division, with incidents such as international business depression, youth unemployment, MERS, Northeast Asia crisis and conflict, the terror attacks in Paris by the Islamic State, the Middle East disputes and the ongoing mass refugee crisis, climate change, as well as domestic and international trials,” and emphasized, “The various crises occurring across the globe are deeply rooted in the dignity and survival instincts of humankind; so we must surpass our borders and gather our wisdom from a global perspective, concentrating our abilities to overcome all matters.”

He further introduced the previous activities of the Family Federation by saying, “After its founding, the Family Federation has followed the teachings of Reverend Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han, investing all external assets and spiritual foundations toward various global issues and national agendas that this era calls upon. In order to realize the Ideal World of Peace that God dearly wished for, we have developed specific activities in various fields, such as religious harmony, citizen movements, North and South Korean Unification, scholarships, culture, media and education.”

President Ryu proclaimed, “For the new year, our Family Federation wishes to mark the historical beginning for the ‘4-Year Journey of Hope’ in order to march towards the 100^th Anniversary of Founder Reverend Sun Myung Moon’s birth in 2020, centering on the traditions of action and faith.”

He elaborated, “The motto of FFWPU in reaching the ‘4 Years of Hope’ is to mature into a Religion of the People. We shall contribute toward achieving a healthy society with healthy families by putting everything we have into it, taking interest in national agendas and keeping in mind the pain of the times in our hearts, as well as following the philosophy of loving heaven, loving humankind and loving your nation.”

President Ryu premised, “The fundamentals of Reverend Moon and Dr. Han is to practice True Love,” and further emphasized, “We shall walk a path of a True religious order that always puts matters into action. In addition, we shall become a Religion of the People that pursues hope and change in this new era, based on the ideals of coexistence, equal opportunity and objective tolerance.”... [See the original story]
