Multicultural Youth successfully completed a 633 kilometer bicycle route from Busan to Incheon

True Love and Peace School (In-Choon Hwang, Principal), an alternative school for multicultural youth, announced on the 7^th that 12 students and three teachers had successfully completed a 633 kilometer bicycle route from Busan to Incheon.

The slogan of the school is “A small school that unfolds big dreams.” Participants of this event arrived in Busan on May 23, and from the 24^th they rode on the Nakdong River bicycle path, the Mungyeongsaejae path, the South Han River path, the Han River path, the Incheon path, passing through a total of 29 confirmation centers over a period of 12 days. On the 4^th of this month, they arrived at their destination, Ara Nampo Dam in Incheon.

This event, which began in 2015, is the True Love and Peace School’s main experience-based class, providing students with the opportunity to gain confidence as multicultural youth, and strengthen their multicultural network.

Ga-Eul Kim, one of the student participants, reflected, “I first started this course because I wanted to create memories, but through the entire trip, I realized what I do to overcome difficult situations, and it helped me become more aware of myself.”

A teacher at the school, Hyo-Min Jang said, “Some people have a concept that multicultural refers to those who need support and education, but multicultural youth are Koreans within the future global society and global citizens within the Korean society.”
