[Newsis] Family Federation for World Peace and Unification Holds Foundation Conference of the Cheon Il Guk Academy of Arts and Sciences
The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, marking the 4th anniversary of the ascension of its founder, Sun Myung Moon, held the foundation conference of the Cheon Il Guk Academy of Arts and Sciences, as well as its first academic symposium, at the banquet hall of the Cheon Jeong Gung Museum in the evening on August 22. Mrs. Yeon-Ah Moon, Director of the Wonmo Pyongae Foundation, gave her congratulatory speech.
400 public figures from 90 nations, including Korea, the United States, Japan, England, Germany, France, Australia, Brazil, Nepal, the Philippines and Kenya, etc., attended today’s two-part event.
The first part of the program included a congratulatory message from Mrs. Yeon-Ah Moon, President of the Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation, a presentation of certificates of appointment and a keynote address by Kwang-Myeong Jo, Director of the Cheon Il Guk Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Mrs. Yeon-Ah Moon, Director of the Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation, began her speech stating, “Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon emphasized from the very beginning that scholars would play an important role in realizing God’s will.” She entreated, “In order to guide this world according to God’s will, we must align the world of scholars to God’s will and expand the light of true learning to all the various areas of society. I hope we can become a ‘Cheon Il Guk Academy of Arts and Sciences’ that creates a momentum that will direct today’s scholarly world toward God’s perspective.”
Kwang-Myeong Jo, Director of the Cheon Il Guk Academy of Arts and Sciences, brought to light the significance of the founding of the Cheon Il Guk Academy by explaining, “The first academic symposium will be a platform for everyone to consider which enterprise will be central to the arrival of Cheon Il Guk according to God’s will.” He also stated, “It will also be an opportunity for us to inherit the providence and offer the results of our victories to God.”
The second part of the program comprised of the academic symposium under the theme, “True Parents' Stature and Providence in the Cheon Il Guk Era.”
The titles of the four main presentations are as follows: "The Need to Restore Gender Balance to Understand God as Both Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother” (presented by Ye Jin Moon with comments by Dr. Jin- Choon Kim); “Commemorating the Centrality of the Holy Wedding of Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon” (presented by Dr. Thomas Selover with comments by Akifumi Otani); “The Work of Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon Following Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s Seonghwa, the Work of the Holy Spirit Following the Death of Jesus, and Our Responsibility” (presented by Dr. Andrew Wilson with comments by Dr. Tyler Hendricks); “The Experience and Knowledge of Cheon Il Guk in Establishing an Ideal World Centered on the Cheon Il Guk Constitution” (presented by Dr. Jin-Choon Kim with comments by Dr. Hang-Jae Kim). A comprehensive discussion was held following the presentations.
The Cheon Il Guk Academy was launched as a vehicle of scholarly research in the name of accomplishing FFWPU’s “Vision 2020” and the settlement and arrival of Cheon Il Guk.
The promotional rally was held last year at the Cheong Shim International Youth Training Center on February 19, with 400 participants, including scholars and leaders from around the world.
The Academy of Arts and Sciences plans to expand its work on policy research, academic promotion through collaboration between FFWPU members and the development of research contents, etc., for the progress of the Cheon Il Guk providence.... [See the original story]
