In order to share the founding ideals of the Tongil Group, the 2016 Tongil Group Employee's Workshop took place at the Cheongshim International Youth Training Center from the 10^th to 11^th of December, 2016, with 443 people, including the faculty members of the foundation, the company presidents of affiliates, executive teams, participants from overseas training in Japan and other high-raking employees participating. Representatives from 17 companies, including the Tongil Foundation, Ilhwa, Yongpyong Resort, the Segye Times, Ilshin Stone, Seil Travel, Sunwon Construction, TIC, Shinjeong Special Vehicles, Ilsang Oceanic Industries, JC, Seilo, Asian Oceans, as well as companies that were transferred into the Tongil Group, such as Pine Ridge, Cheongshim International Hospital, Elbon and Pamsco, attended the event.

Then, in his special presentation during the opening ceremony, the President of the Family Federation-Korea, Kyeung-Seuk Ryu, said, “Reverend Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han are champions on so many levels, but they are especially champions in knowing the Bible well,” and added, “The key to opening the lock to the Bible is ‘Creation-The Fall-Restoration,’ and in the providential history, Korea has a great mission for hope and dreams.” And he delivered his vision and warm feelings for the future by saying, “With Dr. Hak Ja Han, who is marching non-stop with movements for world peace and the salvation of mankind, we shall provide an alternative to Korea’s conflict, and for the year 2020, we shall put down deep roots in our communities all over the world.”

During lunch time after the opening ceremony, the employee members and affiliates had an opportunity to engage in discussion and share visions; and as the first special lecture, the Chair of the Asian Continent of the Family Federation, Chong-Shik Yong, gave an activity report on Nepal, the Philippines, Thailand and Sri Lanka in his “Family Federation Asian Continent Activity Report.” The Asian Continent is where missionary activities of the Family Federation are taking place the most, and through his activity report, President Chong-Shik Yong said, “All VIPs and leaders of Nepal greatly respect Reverend Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han, enough so that seven former prime ministers and vice-presidents have sent messages of condolence when Reverend Sun Myung Moon passed away,” and added, “This is because it is believed that violence, family breakdown and immorality could be solved, and  a safe, happy community, society and nation could be created through them.” He also emphasized that the secret to success is 1) What one thinks is what comes true; 2) What one dreams is what comes true; 3) What one believes is what comes true; 4) How one prays and devote himself is what comes true; 5) How much one prepares is what later comes true; 6) What one proclaims is what comes true; 7) How much one moves decides what comes true. Many people were touched to see the peace activities situation in Asia.

Following that, Family Federation International Headquarters Director-General Seong-Il Cho gave the second special lecture, delivering his “Report of Recent World Peace Activities by Dr. Hak Ja Han.” He said, “Due to the refugees crisis, as well as immigration and terror problems, anti-immigrant sentiments are increasing, and thus spreading a new, but dangerous, isolationism through ethnocentrism; and therefore, Dr. Hak Ja Han is striving to achieve peace throughout the world through promoting the Sunhak Peace Prize.” Director Cho received enthusiastic applause for his global peace activities reports about the many worldwide Blessing movements, True Family movements, interreligious movements, youth leadership training and the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace.

For the third special presentation, Daejeon Parish Pastor Seong-Il Lee, gave an easy-to-understand explanation of the International Holy Blessing Ceremony that the Family Federation carries out, centered on its meaning and value, with a topic of “The meaning and Value of the Blessing.” In his lecture, Pastor Lee said, “The Family Federation provides that we should live for the sake of others from the viewpoint of parents,” and explained, “The reason that family is so good is because the love of parents, the love of husband and wife, the love of siblings and the love of children coincides within the family; and depending on how much love there is in a family, the level of happiness changes.” He then added, “The dream of God was to create a heaven of love and for the people to live conscientiously, and God is the owner of such conscience,” providing an opportunity to deeply think about what happiness is and what the values of living a life of conscience truly are.

As the fourth special presentation, Cheongpyeong Training Center Vice-Director Myeong-Kwan Lee introduced the words of Reverend Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han about making the Cheongpyeong holy grounds into a global city in his “Cheongpyeong Holy Grounds and HJ Cheonwon Report,” simultaneously introducing the beginning of Cheongpyeong’s history, the ancestor liberation ceremony, the Cheongpyeong Special Great Works, overseas assemblies, as well as the HJ Cheonwon project, thus drawing up the future of the Cheongshim International Middle and High Schools, the Cheongshim World Peace Center, the Cheongshim International Hospital and HJ Cheonwon. Looking back on the time when he had met a girl in the wild in Africa, he said, “It is impossible to forget the time when I was deeply touched by meeting a 2^nd Generation child from a couple that had been blessed in Africa countryside, who exited her room with a picture of Reverend Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han,” thus introducing to the participants the various activities that are going on centered on the Cheongpyeong holy grounds.

After dinner, the companies were divided into eight teams for a recreational yute competition; and on the second morning, a tour of the Cheong Jeong Palace Museum was also conducted. And through the tour of the museum of the Founders’ lifetime, which was the place the faculty members wanted to go to the most, a graceful time was provided to take a look at the global activities and materials that were there. The participants later watched the video, “Going to the Road of the End of the Cold War,” that was broadcasted by MBCNET.

For the fifth and final presentation, titled “Korea’s Choice of the 21^st Century,” Sun Moon University Professor In-Tae Hwang gave an explanation of the international situations of the countries surrounding Korea, including America, China, Russia and Japan, and said, “Just as how the excellence of Korea can be seen in its history, the Tongil Group itself must become a group full of people with good character, in order to truly become an exceptional and elite group,” and added, “Let us join forces to make Korea a great country of the 21^st century!” The participants then cheered and applauded enthusiastically in response to Professor Hwang’s impassioned and inspiring message.

At the closing ceremony, which brought the short two-day schedule to an end, the Secretary General of the Tongil Group, Seon-Pyo Hong, said, “Reverend Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han started planning for the future during the 1960s by their comings and goings to Cheongpyeong, and, as a result, the master plan is slowly taking form,” and further emphasized, “The vision that the Tongil Group possesses is to not only to make a profit, but also to establish a deeper world peace and fulfill the dreams of God.” He then shared briefly about the pride that the Tongil Group has, with the 443 of faculty members participating, by saying, “We operate on the spirit of the love of God, the love of people and the love of one’s country, for the sake of coexistence, mutual prosperity and unbiased views, as well as our value in loving God and all of mankind.”
