On March 18, 2017, on one spring Saturday, “2017 Youth Learning Support Program with the Air Force 6th Search and Rescue Navigation Squadron” opening ceremony was held, supported by the Tongil Hope Dream Salary Round-off donation program. This event was attended by about 40 people, at the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification Chongwon church located in Chongwon-gu Chongju-shi Choongchongbuk-do.
The opening ceremony was attended by 14 soldiers from the 6th Search and Rescue Navigation Squad who will directly serve as learning volunteers to the children, as well as 16 parents and children from multicultural families who will be receiving support.
First, training for the soldiers surrounding the significance and role of being a volunteer was implemented. They received education about the proper attitude and methods of being a volunteer.
The 14 soldiers of the 6th Search and Rescue Navigation Squad, who will become volunteers, came up to the front and introduced themselves. A large number of recruiters gathered to apply for the Youth Learning Support Program, and from amongst them 14 soldiers were selected.
After the soldiers concluded their introduction, the Tongil Group Hope Dream Salary Round-off donation (3.2million won) ceremony was conducted. This salary round-off donation has been created with the sum of the salary gathered at the end of each month from the members of Tongil Group.
Tongil Group has expressed their joy at having children from multicultural families with low- income households grow more academically after receiving learning support. The children will receive support regularly with the soldiers for one year.
