The celebration for the 40^th anniversary of foundation was held at Yongpyeong Resort on the 5^th of April, 2013.

From now on, we will deliver various aspects of the celebration with some pictures we prepared.

Our Yongpyeong Resort born in 1973

The time slipped by and here Yongpyeong Resort is at 40 years old. It has a little bit longer history than other subsidiaries. In order to prepare for the next 40 years, the employees of Yongpyeong Resort put a 40-year-old history aside and held the celebration for the 40^th anniversary of the foundation on the 5^th of April (the anniversary of the founding of Yongpyeong is the 6^th of April).

The history is quite long, isn’t it? Yongpyeong Resort is husily working to make its global reputation known for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games. You may expect greatly a new look of Yongpyeong Resort.

The time slipped by and here Yongpyeong Resort is at 40 years old. It has a little bit longer history than other subsidiaries. In order to prepare for the next 40 years, the employees of Yongpyeong Resort put a 40-year-old history aside and held the celebration for the 40^th anniversary of the foundation on the 5^th of April (the anniversary of the founding of Yongpyeong is the 6^th of April).

While preparing for various events along with the celebration for the 40^th anniversary of the founding, we also prepared for various decent gifts.

The gift for the winner of Quiz game ~ Challenge Golden Bell is a 47” 3D TV and that for the second place is Galaxy Note 10.1. 

In the celebration, many staff members and executives of Yongpyeong attended. Mr. Hong Yong-jae member attended on behalf of all members. Especially, Mr. Kim Dae-wook, the former president of Yongpyeong Resort, graced the occasion with his presence. First, the celebration for the 40^th anniversary of the founding of Yongpyeong started with a reading of the “Values of Yongpyeong”!

Next, an award ceremony for the employees who contributed to the development of Yongpyeong in 2012 followed. Achievement Awards and Service Awards (rainmakers of Mystery Shopping, etc.) were given. Congratulations for winners!

After the celebration was finished, a commemorative tree was planted. The place for planting a commemorative tree is located at the lower part (on the side of a ticket counter) of the slope in front of Mokmoongyo Bridge (a bridge in front of the hotel) and a commemorative tree to be planted was determined as a nice yew.

After all the main events including planting a commemorative tree are finished, Yongpyeong Challenge Golden Bell started.

Who will be the hero of today?

The prize of Yongpyeong Challenge Golden Bell was a 47” 3D TV.

Challenge Golden Bell was progressed in the way that 40 persons (meaning the 40^th anniversary) were selected through the preliminaries and advanced to the finals.

At last, a consolation match was held with only five persons. A consolation match was progressed in the way that the director and one employee of the headquarters join forces to play a game of removing a sitting cushion. We express our gratitude for the directors of the headquarters who played the game so hard.

As a result of playing Yongpyeong Challenge Golden Bell, the final two persons were left. One of the two was Lee Mi-rang, the section chief of sales promotion team, who took the first place and the other was Lee Jeong-won, the staff of reservation room, who took the second place.

After all the main events were finished, a luncheon was given at the Concert Hall of Snow Village. With cutting of a memorial cake for the 40^th anniversary of the founding of Yongpyeong Resort and union head Kim You-in’s suggestion of toasting, all of participants enjoy a delicious meal.
