On April 1, 2014, Tongil Foundation Chairman Seong Soon Jo visited TIC. The visit included a report by TIC President Bong Che Jung and a tour of the facilities. President Jung presented his report in the TIC conference room.
The automotive axle assembly facility is furnished with American equipment including Gleason dry cutting machinery, Phoenix, Test M/C, Lapping M/C, Cutter assembly and other top of the line equipment.
Executive Director Jong Young Jung gave a facility report during the tour of the transmission production facility, which contains 202 units of machinery including grinders and produces gear boxes, axles, and central gears, shaft and syncro parts for deceleration assemblies for for automobiles, heavy equipment and defense industry equipment.
The automotive division's heat treatment production process uses a high-frequency carburizing heat treatment system in the production of high quality axles, transmissions and other automotive components.
Director Jung reported that the ball screw facility of the machine tool facility produces high precision ball screws, making it possible for domestic ball screws to be utilized in applications where imported ball screws were formerly required.
Team leader Seung Jae Lee reported on the grinding production team at the machine tool division at Palyong-dong in Changwon, which is working on innovations in top sub micron technology using automated technology and cylindrical grinding machinery, and developing new technology in the field of ultra-precision grinding and introduced the product line produced by the division. |
