Following the Tongil Group Wives’ Overseas Training held in March of last year, 36 wives of Tongil Group executive and staff members participated in the 2nd Tongil Group Wives Overseas Training, held at the Urayasu Il Shim Special Training in Center in Japan for four days, from June 10th to 13th.
On June 10th, the first day, the 36 Tongil Group wives took some time to visit the Religious Temple and the Tokyo Government Building on their way to the Il Shim Special Training Center in Japan.
At the opening ceremony and welcoming banquet, the President of the Japanese Headquarters and other distinguished persons from Japan welcomed the Tongil Group wives from Korea with a warm round of applause.
The opening address was given by Young-Tae Kim, the Secretary General of the Tongil Group, followed by the welcoming remarks by Eiji Tokuno, President of the Japan Headquarters, and congratulatory remarks by President Furuta. It was a good opportunity for exchange between the two countries.
On the 11th, the second day, there was a special lecture on the Unification activities in Japan given by Eiji Tokuno, the President of the Japanese Headquarters. President Tokuno talked about Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s activities in Japan and his efforts in improving the relations between Korea and Japan. He spoke in Korean and the participants responded enthusiastically.
Afterwards, there was a lecture on the founder’s ideology given by District Pastor Byeong-Ryul Lee. He lectured with passion and wit, and the participants enjoyed the lectures thoroughly with full focus throughout the entire day. They especially identified with the importance of family and efforts to build ideal families emphasized by the founder. The participants also watched the MBCNET broadcast and listened to a testimony given by Manager Sang-Il Bang about the Unification activities carried out by Koreans residing in Japan.
In the evening of the second day, there was some recreation time for the wives to get to know each other better. Participants from each company came up on stage to show off their singing and dancing prowess, and everyone had a wonderful time together.
On the 12th day, the participants took some time to explore Japanese culture. They experienced Japanese culture up close by visiting Asakusa Sensoji, taking the Tokyo cruise ship and visiting the Odaiba and Uedo Hot Springs.
On the 13th day, there was a closing ceremony, which brought the four-day schedule to a close. The participants reminisced on memories made during this time in Japan as they viewed a video of the different activities they had done throughout the four days, and finally, there came a time for participant testimonies and sharing.
< Testimonies > * I now know about the ideology of the Tongil Group founder, and I will be able to explain it in detail to my family and to others. This workshop has motivated me to strive to create a true family and understand better the meaning of family. The excellent lectures and their precious words have inspired me to change my life. Until now, I lacked consideration for others, but through the lectures I could realize that consideration and understanding is not only for the sake of others, but in the end, it is for my own good also. We listened to lectures all day, but I remained interested and gained a better understanding of the ideology and goals of the Tongil Group. More than anything else, I could realize many things throughout these past four days, and I am happy that from now on, I will be able assist my husband. * This was an opportunity to take a look back on myself, my family, my lifestyle, my country and the world where we must live together. I could get rid of the misunderstandings and rumors I had on the Tongil Group, and truly understand the great and righteous goals this organization has. Teacher Sun Myung Moon was a great and wonderful person. I pray for the infinite development of the Tongil Group for the sake of Korea, Japan and the world. Thank you very much. |
