On July 25^th, 2014, Tongil Foundation Director Yong-Tae Kim joined 18 members of Tongil Group’s data processing staff at the Dowon Building for a day-long seminar on data security and backup preparation.

During the seminar, Director Kim emphasized the urgency of protecting company secrets, confidential data and the personal information of Yong Pyong, Ilsang and Ilhwa customers. He also ordered for each data processing team to thoroughly prepare for any emergency, stressing that a data breach would have consequences comparable to the level of a fire or a natural disaster.

Administration and Support Division Director Jong-Woo Kim spoke after Director Kim. He discussed the importance of preparing for emergencies that could strike at any time by working closely together with the other teams of the Foundation’s subsidiary companies.

In the morning, the Foundation’s IT team made a presentation on the Foundation’s security and backup system, as well as its advance plans. After lunch, the group listened to presentations about backup systems, particularly the system implemented by Segye Ilbo.

After the presentations, the data processing teams exchanged business information, thus concluding the seminar.
