The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification held the “2017 Hyojeong(孝情) Global Youth Camp” at the Go-Seong World Jamboree Campsite on August 4 to 6, with over 7,000 multicultural youth participants throughout the nation.

The theme of this camp, which was held in commemoration of FFWPU Founder Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s 5th Seonghwa (ascension), was “Hyojeong Heroes! Becoming Peace-Loving Global Citizens!” This camp was organized to allow youth of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds to take part in and practice the Hyojeong culture through “sharing and inheriting Hyojeong,” and resolving to become “peace-loving global citizens.”

At the opening ceremony, FFWPU Founder Hak Ja Han Moon gave words of encouragement through a video message. “All of you must not fail like the human ancestors Adam and Eve, but grow up as beautiful, capable individuals of the future. Just has how sunflowers grow towards the sun, don’t forget that Heaven is with you in your daily lives and everything that you do.”

FFWPU Korea President Kyeung-Seuk Ryu emphasized through the opening address, “I hope the root of the lives and identities of students in their period of growth can become connected with Heaven centering on eternal and unchanging filial piety.”

President Ryu continued, “Most of the youth who have come to this global camp are from multicultural families. The role of multicultural communities is crucial in the Korean society of tomorrow. I hope that you all can become pioneers of the new youth culture of Hyojeong, and become Hyojeong heroes who grow up to become professionals in each field, and who will take responsibility for a unified Korea.”

The Scout ceremony, held on August 4 from 7 pm, began with a representative prayer from FFWPU Cheongshim branch Dong-U Kim, followed by a video presentation, the entrance of representative flag-bearers from each region, the Hyojeong Heroes oath ceremony, the formation of brotherhoods and sisterhoods by region, a video message by FFWPU Founder Hak Ja Han Moon and an address and benediction by FFWPU Korea President Kyeung-Seuk Ryu.

This camp was organized to allow multicultural youth to yearn for peace on the Korean Peninsula, and cultivate their consciousness as world citizens.

These multicultural youth camped out in the 1,700 tents that were pitched throughout the Go-Seong World Jamboree Campsite. They inherited the peace philosophy of founders Rev. Moon and Mrs. Moon, and shared this time as brothers and sisters, while ruminating on “the vision of one family under God.”

Meanwhile, the 5th anniversary of Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s Seonghwa will be held on September 7 at the Cheongshim Peace World Center in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, along with an international joint marriage blessing ceremony.

By enlightening the people about the footsteps and achievements of Rev. and Mrs. Moon’s peace movement, a message of hope and life, “love, forgive and unite,” will be given to people of the world, overcoming the conflicts of national boundaries, religion, race and culture.....
